Culikid's 4/16 Carrot Cake Baking Class
Learn to bake carrot loaf cake with Culikid!
Learn hands-on how to make this tasty carrot loaf cake with cream cheese frosting during Passover and Easter weekend! While Culikid's virtual classes are paced to be accessible for a neurodivergent child, they are open to everyone! All ages and abilities are welcome to join!
This class will involve using a measuring spoons and cups, a grater, cracking eggs, mixing batter, and using the oven . Adult assistance is suggested if your child or teen needs help with any of the above as well as following verbal directions, staying on task, and initiating tasks. This class will take 1 hour.
Ingredients needed include:
- Unsalted butter or vegan butter
- All-purpose flour or gluten-free flour
- Sugar
- Baking soda
- Salt
- Ground cinnamon
- Ground ginger
- Ground nutmeg
- Eggs
- Vanilla extract
- Buttermilk
- Carrots
- Cream cheese
- Powdered sugar
- Heavy cream
- Almonds
- Pistachios
Register once per household (not for each individual). Once you register, you will be sent the Zoom meeting link followed by the full ingredient and supply list. If you have any questions about the class or ingredients you can substitute, email us at info@culikid.org.
This recipe is vegetarian and can be:
- Gluten-free by subbing gluten-free flour
- Vegan and dairy-free by: subbing butter for vegan butter, subbing buttermilk for non-dairy milk and lemon juice, and replacing the frosting with a glaze
- Nut-free by skipping the nuts
- Egg-free by using one of these substitutes
