Loans of Outdoor Equipment
Families are invited to borrow and enjoy a wide variety of outdoor equipment for all ages. There are bicycles for the smallest toddler to teens and adults, versatile bicycle trailers you can pull or convert to a jogging stroller, inline skates, badminton nets, tennis equipment, slacklines, soccer balls, child carriers for hikes, lawn games, scooters and more.
Borrowing equipment is easy and available for all, even out-of-town visitors who may be looking for a way to take in the city sights.
- No monetary deposit is needed, but the centre does ask for a driver’s license or Medicare card as proof of ID.
- There is no hourly limit to how long you can take out an item, though everything needs to be returned by 5 p.m. on the same day.
- Equipment is available on a first-come, first-served basis. You are not able to reserve in advance, so it’s best to make alternate plans to avoid disappointment.
- The centre’s rental location is located adjacent to the paths that follow the St. Lawrence River and that pass by playgrounds and green spaces, so there are plenty of spots to stop and play.
