BMX MONTREAL

BMX MONTREAL

Fun

Initially built as a recreational course in 2013, a budget of just over $ 409,000 was allocated by the City of Montreal just two years later for the complete reconstruction of the track. The redesign involved the participation of the Fédération des sports cyclistes du Québec and professionals in the field. In 2019, further work was done when lights were installed as part of the Programme des installations sportives extérieures (PISE).

The almost three metre-wide course totals 280 linear metres, and includes hydraulic starting gates with lights, 13 jumps, 14 flat and three asphalt curves. The four-lane starting grid lets more advanced bikers quickly gain speed while the layout of the track allows children and beginners to use the easier sections.

Unique on the island, the track is certified for regional level competitions and has hosted high level competitions such as the 51st Finale des Jeux du Québec in 2016.

The BMX track is accessible to the public at no charge from sunrise to sunset, except for periods when The BMX Montreal club is holding events or classes (the club has priority on the track from May to October, Monday to Friday from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.) If you’re interested in joining the club or learning more about lessons, visit their website at bmxmontreal.com
