Intro to Woodworking | The STEAM Project
Learn basic woodworking skills in a safe, exploration-based environment! Students will learn basic safety practices, hand tools, construction techniques, and finishing methods. No experience required!
New to woodworking? Come join us in a fun, exploration-based environment to learn how to work with wood safely, use hand tools, build basic structures, and finish wooden projects to a high level of detail. Over the course of several short projects, students will gain skills, accumulate experience and build confidence to be able to pursue their own woodworking projects. Activities will be modified to student age and ability.
Key Information
- Session Length: 1 hr a week / 10 weeks
- Technology Access: All software and tools needed will be provided to students.
- Class Size: 10 students
- Instructor to Student Ratio: 1:5
In-person Course Needs
- Closed-toe shoes
- Hair tie *for students with long hair
- Safety goggles (provided)
- Bring your creativity and curiosity!
