Circus exhibit and free guided tours | Pointe-à-Callière

Pointe-à-Callière Museum will have a variety of activities on tap for fun-seekers of all ages during spring break. From an immersive look into the world of circuses to free guided tours for budding archaeologists, there will be something for all ages and interests. 

The world of professional circus

The It’s Circus Time! Exhibition will give visitors a look into the world of the professional circus, from England’s first 18th-century circus to more modern shows. It features more than 350 objects, including costumes, set pieces and props, as well as photos and videos. Visitors can also discover troupes from Quebec who have had success on the international scene.

There will also be circus performances and creative workshops. On the streets outside the museum, families can take in spontaneous performances, such as clowns, juggling acts and balancing workshops. Circus artists from the Flip Fabrique and Moulin à vent troupes will also be on hand to engage with audiences and showcase their tricks. 

There will also be installations like a big mobile kaleidoscope, perfect for fun photo ops. 

Free guided outdoor tours

For the serious types who prefer not to clown around, there will be free guided tours available. As the birthplace of Montreal, the museum and surrounding neighbourhood is teeming with history to discover. Visitors can learn more about Montreal’s archaeology, history, and architecture.

The tours will take place on Feb. 26 and March 2, 4, and 5, at 1 p.m. (in French) and 2 p.m. (in English).

Mural with messages of hope

During spring break, there will be a mural in front of the museum created by homeless people and supported by Accueil Bonneau. The mural is made up of messages of hope. Visitors to the museum can use their creativity to add their own messages of hope.

Tickets for all activities must be reserved online. Visitors 13 and older are required to show proof of vaccination. Masks are required for visitors 6 and older.
