Sea to Sky Gondola | Squamish

Tours & Day Trips

Endless adventure in a true mountain playground.

Get a unique perspective of the mountain town of Squamish and the surrounding alpine scenery, as you soar above it all on the Sea to Sky Gondola.

Once inside the 8 person gondola with floor to ceiling glass windows you glide 2,900 feet (880m) above sea level, enjoying incredible bird's-eye views of everything British Columbia, inlcuding mountains, forests, oceans and rivers.

At The Summit  choose from the Sky Pilot Suspension Bridge (100 metres/328 feet), Via Ferrata (additional cost) climbing experience, Alpine Alley (our kids only nature walk), accessible viewing platforms to take in the views of the coastal fjord,  walking/hiking trails and the Summit Lodge, complete with a restaurant, bar and retail area.

THE GONDOLA
A JOURNEY LIKE NO OTHER!

The ride up to our summit provides sweeping views of Howe Sound, the majestic coastal forest and surrounding mountains. Every gondola cabin has a maximum capacity of 8 passengers. The gondolas feature a level entrance/exit point, making them wheelchair and stroller accessible.

The gondola cabins are custom-made by Swiss manufacturer CWA, and the gondola itself is manufactured by Austrian manufacturer Doppelmayr. We have comfortable padded seats and floor to ceiling glass windows for maximum views. The ride up and down is a thrilling adventure for all ages and provides new views of Shannon Falls and the famous Stawamus Chief climbing area.

Once at the top, many other adventures await. You will have access to a wide array of outdoor experiences, including two different interpretive loop walking trails with cantilevered viewing platforms, the spectacular Sky Pilot Suspension Bridge, numerous hiking trails, rock climbing, access trails to backcountry routes and much more.

SKY PILOT SUSPENSION BRIDGE
A THRILLING EXPERIENCE!

Views of Sky Pilot, Howe Sound and surrounding forests await.

The Sky Pilot Suspension Bridge is approximately 100 metres long and has a backdrop that falls away thousands of feet below, giving you a greater feeling of exposure and height over land. The Sky Pilot Suspension Bridge offers amazing 360 degree views of the area, both up to the high alpine of the mountains above and down to Howe Sound below.

The bridge is open year-round. It is stroller and wheelchair accessible and is one of the many adventures that are available to you with your day ticket or annual pass.

 VIEWING PLATFORMS
JAW DROPPING VIEWS!

All three of these viewing platforms are easily accessible, regardless of age and athletic ability.

SUMMIT LODGE VIEWING DECK

Located footsteps from the gondola’s unloading station, this magnificent 5,000 sq/ft deck offers breathtaking views of Howe Sound, the Tantalus Mountain Range, and the famous Co-Pilot and Sky Pilot mountain peaks. The viewing deck is attached to our Summit Lodge, which has a fully-licensed eatery and bar. The Summit Lodge Viewing Deck is the perfect place to enjoy a meal and a refreshing beverage while taking in the views. In the summer months, we host a number of events on the deck, including live music, yoga, wine pairing dinners and more!

SPIRIT VIEWING PLATFORM

Located only 100m from the Summit Lodge via the Sky Pilot Suspension Bridge, 150m via the Spirit Trail, this viewing platform is easily accessible and offers a different experience than the rest. The Spirit Viewing Platform has interpretive information displays along the trail where you can learn about the surrounding landscape, wildlife and history. It is a great place to learn about the rich history of the Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Nation who have lived off of this land since before recorded history. This viewing deck has been used as a beautiful wedding ceremony location.

CHIEF OVERLOOK VIEWING PLATFORM

This dramatic viewing platform hangs over hundreds of metres of sheer drop. It's a unique, heart-thumping opportunity to stand close to the edge and see the landscape surrounding Howe Sound. Facing north, you can see the Mamquam Valley, get clear views of Mount Atwell, watch hikers on the backside of the Stawamus Chief from above, and watch the windsurfers and kiteboarders at “The Spit” (a famous windsurfing spot). This viewing platform is accessed from the middle of the Panorama Trail and is approximately 800 metres from the Summit Lodge (roughly 10-20 minute walk, depending on your pace).
