General Crafts

By now, most (if not all of us) love a good photo booth – it’s basically a staple at parties, whether for birthdays or the holidays. Today I’ll be showing you an easy way to DIY some fun free printable photo booth props for your New Years Eve party so you can ring in the new year with style!

Supplies needed to make your own free printable photo booth props:

  • Chipboard
  • Cardstock
  • Glitter Paper
  • Glitter
  • Matte Mod Podge
  • 1/4″ Dowels
  • Electronic Die Cutter (optional)
  • Scissors or X-acto Knife
  • Glue
  • Hot Glue Gun
  • Printable Photo Props Template (for personal use only)

Step 1. Cut out the free printable photo booth props template provided – of course, you can definitely do this without an electronic die cutter, but it just makes things much easier for crafting! I used my Silhouette Cameo to cut out my shapes – don’t forget to resize them first before cutting. Cut one piece of each element on chipboard or cardboard, and two pieces (front and back) on cardstock.

Step 2. Assemble your shapes by matching the correct sides and gluing them down – I find it easiest to use a sponge dauber to apply my glue (as it takes out the excess glue) and letting it dry between two pieces of parchment or wax paper with something heavy on top (to flatten it). This process makes your free printable photo booth props sturdy and creates a professional look – you’ll be able to use it on more than just one party!

Step 3. Once dry, you have the option of making it more interesting by adding embellishment such as gems, or even glittering the photo prop. I used Matte mod podge evenly on the surface of my “Cheers” prop and then sprinkled a good amount of glitter on top. Once dry, tap the excess glitter and coat with a spray sealer (optional).

Step 4. Once you are done embellishing your free printable photo booth props, attach your dowel using a dab of hot glue and attaching it to the back of the chipboard prop.

And you are done! Create simple party photo props, or make them unique by embellishing them with an assortment of gems, feathers and stick-ons.
