Favourites! Our Collections on Display
Visit the Pointe-à-Callière museum to learn how Montreal was founded. A major tourist attraction in the heart of the Old Montreal.
Ever wonder what makes Montréal so different from other cities around the world? Through 400 “favourite” objects chosen from among the thousands preserved at the Museum, the exhibition paints a moving portrait of Montréal life. Furniture, clothing, jewelry, toys, tools, books, maps, posters, and iconography have literally been pulled out of the storehouses to tell you the story of the city and its inhabitants.
Key events, the economy, navigation, sports, arts, and culture… set against a theatrical backdrop, several facets of the city come to life in 20 tableaus made up of a wide variety of objects. You’ll also explore touching profiles of our co-citizens, along with testimonials by archaeologists, historians, and other specialists, which complete this multi-dimensional living gallery with contemporary points of view.
Test your knowledge! A quiz and interactive games encourage young and old alike to have fun by diving into Montréal’s past and present. An unusual “box of curiosities” contains sometimes surprising objects from the not-so-distant past… Can you guess how they were used?
With Favourites! Our Collections on Display, you’ll fall under the city’s spell all over again… one object at a time!
